Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us by call/text or our contact form if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Getting a tattoo can be uncomfortable, but the level of pain varies depending on the individual and the location of the tattoo. Our artists use techniques to minimize discomfort, and we can provide guidance on how to care for your tattoo after the appointment to minimize any pain or discomfort.

Yes, in North Dakota you must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo or piercing.

If you are under 18 (and at least 16 for tattoos), you must have a parent or legal guardian present for the appointment to provide written consent and additional documents, such as a birth certificate. Please ask when making your appointment for details.

Our artists are $150/hour, as time determines how much your tattoo will cost. Our minimum fee is $75 for any tattoo that takes 30 minutes or less. The amount of time (and therefore the cost) of a tattoo at Ten32Ink depends on the size, complexity, and placement of the design. We offer competitive pricing and our artists will work with you to create a design that fits your budget.

Absolutely. At Ten32Ink, we take your safety and well-being very seriously. We use only disposable and sterilized equipment. We follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure that your tattoo or piercing is safe and clean. We are licensed by the state and undergo routine inspections by Western Plains Public Health.

Yes! Your best option for getting a same-day walk-in is to call early in the day and see if any artist has an opening. You often don’t have a choice of which artist will do your tattoo, nor can we always accommodate walk-ins that are time intensive or custom drawn. Appointments will always take priority over walk-ins.

We are always open to new appointments through our booking form or by phone. Our books are always open. although some artists may be booked out weeks or months in advance.

Yes, we require a non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment time. If a deposit isn't received, your appointment time remains available for others to book. The amount will be applied towards the cost of the service you book. Same-day walk-ins do not require this deposit. Deposits for most tattoos are $50, although a $150 deposit is required for custom-designed tattoos that require a significant amount of preparation time.

Yes, just mention this in your request and we will work to accommodate your appointment within that artist's schedule and style.

  • Be well rested, hydrated, and eat a good meal before your appointment.
  • Please make sure to wear clean and comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being tattooed. Backwards zip-up hoodies are great for spine tattoos, and shorts or loose pants for leg pieces. Do not wear anything that you would mind getting stained by ink as the process can be messy.
  • You are welcome to bring books, headphones, or other means of distracting yourself during the tattoo process as long as they are not disruptive to those around you or disrupt your artist’s ability to tattoo.

The healing time for a tattoo or piercing varies depending on the individual and the location of the tattoo. Generally, tattoos take 2-3 weeks to heal, while piercings can take 4-6 weeks or longer. Our artists will provide you with aftercare instructions to help speed up the healing process.

Touch-ups on our shop's work is always free. We ask that you schedule ahead as times for your artist are limited. Touch-ups must be done by the same artist that did your original tattoo, except in specific circumstances.

It is our personal policy to not send work-in-progress drawings. Because of this, we never guarantee that you will see your design before the appointment date. If any minor changes need to be made to your design, they will be made the day of your appointment.

We have a trusted brand of numbing cream in the shop. We offer it for free. Outside brands may have unknown side effects and possibly make it harder to tattoo your skin. Always ask at the beginning of your appointment if you have concerns.
